So Andy and I from the beginning, even before we got engaged and were talking about getting married we talked a lot about money. I LOVE(d) spending money and Andy LOVE(d)(s) saving money. So we were and still kind of are on two different ends of the spectrum. But we both agreed that we did not want debt. Nothing will be charged or financed except our home. Now when we were talking about this way back when I had to think REALLY hard if this is what I wanted. I mean no new cars for me unless we had enough cash! But I guess I loved this boy enough to say goodbye to my dream car.
So we have only been married a little over two years but we have no credit card debt,... but we have a crazy amount of school loans. Let me tell you Physical Therapists pay a TON to get educated and their salaries do not match, not saying they don't make a lot, some do, but it's not comparable. Anyways add to that going to Wash U the 2nd best PT school in the country and you could say we have a lot of school loans. Andy surprisingly got off fairly well with being married and me making some money.
Long story to say to this... We paid another loan off! Loan #3! We are super pumped although we have a LONG way to go. We have a budget and we live comfortably. We are only on one salary right now. (I'm planning to start subbing soon once I get my WA license.) But I think we're making great strides and I just can't wait until were at like $6,000 instead of $66,000 cause we'll live off rice and beans and pay that baby off! Andy and I do little celebrations every time we pay off a loan (like eat ice cream or have a dance party) but we will definitely have a HUGE party when that last one is gone!
*This is kind of a bragging post so I apologize. I just think it's fun when a loan total turns to $0.*
