18 Weeks

18 Weeks! 2 weeks away from halfway through! Our baby is the size of a sweet potato! Our baby has been moving and grooving and pushing against my already small bladder causing me quite a few problems!  After a impromptu doctor visit we found out our little one is being carried low, really low: hence the bladder problems!

This past weekend we were blessed with the company of my sister, Brandon and Parker!  Buckley and Parker finally got to meet and after Parker's hesitations I think they are at the beginning of a great friendship. Despite the Seattle weather brought to our sunny Richland we had a good time visiting and hanging out.

Andy and I have been pretty busy with our community group and getting started with leading Financial Peace at church as well as helping to launch The City (a church communication site).  Andy has been busy at work with his normal duties as well as launching Kadlec's first running clinic!  He is also busy training for another half marathon next weekend in Bend, OR.

Enjoying a blueberry lemonade while everyone else enjoys wine!

This is Week 17. Onion Sized!

17 Weeks

We are 17 weeks as of Sunday!  Little babe is the size of an onion!  About 5 inches long!  Hard to believe, but amazing at the same time.  He/she is moving a lot, I can hardly imagine what it will feel like when he/she is bigger and making bigger movements.  I love every little poke and nudge I get.  I even watched as little babe moved from left to right!
Also on Sunday was Andy's birthday!  We celebrated by heading out east toward the Blue Mountains right after church (we left Buckley in the car during church in which he set off the car alarm for who knows how long...).  We drove through just absolutely gorgeous landscapes, it was seriously beautiful.  When we finally got to the trail we had planned out we got dressed into our hiking clothes, only for me to find out that I left my hiking shoes at home.  Not wanting to waste the 2 hour trip out there I hiked in socks (which I remembered) and in flip flops.  Andy said I looked like a samurai because I was wearing all black...  Despite that it was beautiful, short hike and worth it.
We found a bbq place here, definitely nothing like the ones in Saint Louis, but could possibly fulfill a craving if we had one.  We finished the night with Andy's favorite, Rhubarb Pie.
Lots of celebrating this week, we celebrated 3 years last night.  To celebrate we went to Monterosso's Italian Restaurant here in Richland.  It was an intimate little setting in a train car!  It was really cute and very good food.

16 Weeks (okay I'm a week late)

Our little babe is 16 weeks.  We had our 4 month appointment on Monday and was surprised when the doctor asked us if we wanted to find out the sex on that day.  We both thought we would have to wait until 20 weeks.  We excitedly said YES! So the doctor brought in the ultra sound machine, hooked it up, spread the cold jelly over my tummy and placed our little one's picture on the screen.  We saw our babe's arms, legs, feet, and head (such a difference from the 8 week ultrasound!)... But despite our yearning to find out if we're having a boy or a girl, our undisclosed son or daughter had other things in mind.  Our little one was adamant on sitting indian style so that the doctor could not maneuver to see his/her gender.  Already a rebellious little booger!
So we will wait another 4 weeks to find out!
Other baby news, I can finally feel movement and it truly is a magical feeling!  I was sitting there at work and felt a small spasm where I know the baby is and it was just a small little movement, but amazing to feel.  Curious I poked in that same area only to get two small spasms back! Now I'm absolutely obsessed with touching my stomach (but that doesn't mean you should be)!
On other news, my parents came to town for an extended weekend and it was a blast.  We went wine tasting (or smelling for me), walked by the river, hiked Badger Mtn, and just had a lot of fun.  It was super great to see them and wish we could see them more!

So most of you are familiar with the "Canadian Goose", Well this is what an "American Goose" looks like.

14 Weeks

Our baby is the size of a lemon! Hooray!

Nothing much is new here, I'm officially in the 2nd trimester and do feel considerably better and definitely have a little more energy.  I'm still fitting into my size 00 jeans so I'm crossing my fingers no new pants buying is in the near future!  I feel enormous though!  You have to consider that I have been tiny my entire life and (go ahead and roll your eyes) never have really had to work at not having a belly... So this is a big change for me, but I love it!

We have decided to do cloth diapers and wipes (go ahead and roll your eyes again).  And after much research and to much of Andy's annoyance I think we have decided on the diapers we're going to use.  Hallelujah!  I think they're super adorable too!
We have cleared out the nursery officially after selling our desk and chair on Craig's List so we're ready to paint and get some furniture!  We can't wait to find out the sex of the baby in about 6 weeks (I especially can't wait so I can start spending some money!).
Buckley as you can tell is ultra excited.
